Therapies we offer
Clinical Hypnotherapy
What is Clinical Hypnotherapy?
Clinical Hypnotherapy is a means of using hypnosis to treat a variety of medical and psychological problems. It is estimated that 85% of people respond very well to hypnosis. It often succeeds where other, more conventional, methods of treatment have not produced the desired results. When carried out by a professionally trained and skilled hypnotherapist, the benefits can be long lasting and often permanent in nature.

"The mind is like an iceberg, it floats with one-seventh of its bulk above water."
~ Sigmund Freud.
How does it work?
The human mind is like an iceberg. Only a very small proportion of an iceberg is visible above the surface of the sea: this is like your conscious mind. Most of the iceberg - like your subconscious mind - is hidden below the water, out of sight to the casual observer. You actively use the conscious mind all day long, to read this page, or think about what film to see at the cinema, and are fully aware of the thoughts and decisions that are made by it.
The subconscious mind contains everything else. It directs almost all of your behaviour and acts as a huge store house for all your memories, knowledge, understanding and wisdom. The subconscious mind has such a wealth of stored information that gaining access to it can prove incredibly useful - particulary in therapy. When you are deeply relaxed, in a trance like state, such as hypnosis, communication with the subconscious mind is very effective. Deep relaxation or hypnosis acts like building a bridge to your subconscious mind.
It is impossible to describe exactly what hypnosis is like or what you will experiences as everyone is so unique, but be assured that it is usually a very pleasant and relaxing experience. Often the sensations you will have can be described as very similar to those when you are falling asleep or just before you wake up. We all experience trance like states all of the time - like day dreaming, focusing fully on TV, or becoming engrossed in a book. So everyone can and does experience the altered state of hypnosis.
During hypnosis you are always in control and cannot be made to do anything against your will. Your subconscious mind will always protect you. You can also come in and out of hypnosis whenever you wish.
When you have achieved a state of deep relaxation, a hypnotic state, your therapist can then communicate directly with your subconscious mind without the critical, argumentative conscious mind getting in the way. The therapist can ask your subconscious mind whether it is ready or not to make the positive changes you desire and your subconscious mind will only complete these changes when it is happy and ready to do so.
EFT
What is EFT - Emotional Freedom Technique?
This is a relatively new therapy to the UK. EFT was developed by Gary Craig in the United States and derives from Dr Roger Callahan's "Thought Field Therapy". It has its roots in Applied Kinesiology and Acupuncture. EFT works by impacting directly upon the body's energy flow by tapping gently on many of the same meridian points used in acupunture and acupressure.
Hundreds of professional therapists and tens of thousands of very enthusiastic users in the UK and United States testify to EFT's unique ability to bring rapid and permanent relief from many problems.
EFT often works where nothing else will. It is gentle, works quickly and is startlingly long lastingin its results. There are no drugs or equipment involved and it can easily be self-applied.
As a fully qualified EFT Practitioner and a member of The Association for the Advancement of Meridian Therapies, we know from experience that this technique is flexible, can be fast and effective, and more often than not, it is permanent. We have seen many clients who have experienced dramatic relief from a range of ailments and emotional issues from frozen shoulders, headaches, migranes, guilt relief, agoraphobia, fear of driving in specific places, fear of different types of transport, claustrophobia, fear of spiders, interview and driving test nerves, chocolate addictions, cigarette cravings.....and many more!
The great things is that just about anyone can use EFT, and just about anyone can learn this quickly and easily. EFT can release negative emotions that prevent a person from moving forward in their lives.
How do you do it?
EFT involves tapping gently on certain energy points (located around the upper body and hands) with the fingertips whilst using client-specific affirmations in relation to the problem or emotional issues. EFT enables an individual to release the negative emotions and realign the body's energy. It often achieves results far in excess of many conventional methods. EFT can be used in face to face consultations and can also be carried out over the telephone.
What can it treat?
Many of the most influential psychologists are now coming to recognise that unblocking these 'stuck' energies can be the key to releasing a vast array of emotions and can help with treating all of the conditions mentioned on our website.

Intergral Eye Movement Therapy
Integral Eye Movement Therapy is a brief therapy that utilises the application of neurological principals in order to generate rapid change in the area of undesired neurological imprints. The I.E.M. therapy model answers the question, "How did the client learn to feel this way, about that thing?" and applies specific change at the right neuro-logical level.
For example, one of our clients, Jeff, reported that whenever he tried to succeed in any part of his life he automatically felt "like a loser" (Emotional Imprint) before he even attempted any aspect of success. "I am a loser" (Identity Imprint) he told us. Utilising the I.E.M. Therapy protocols, the imprinting experiences for these emotions and the beliefs that maintained Jeff's "loser" identity were rapidly located and re-imprinting with a more positive experience was enabled. I.E.M. Therapy brings the client more into the present and enables the client to stay out of past negative experiences permanently.
Practitioners trained in the technique have reported that even the most resistant emotional problems have been quickly resolved, usually in a single session. The method is especially useful in teenagers and client groups prone to be non-articulate about their emotional states and problems for which they are seeking help. Problems most often resolved with I.E.M. Therapy are thoese issues where the person is somehow "stuck in their past." Guilt, shame and blame are easily resolved with I.E.M Therapy and probably in the shortest time. Identity beliefs and self esteem issues such as, "I am no good," "I am clumsy" and so forth are also rapidly addressed and resolved using the methodology.
Intergral Eye Movement Therapy often works then clients get stuck and can be an excellent change agent in often just one session. Sessions are 1 1/2 to 2 hours in length
Life Coaching

What is Life Coaching?
Life Coaching is a practical, forward-looking way to gain clarity on what you don't like and what you can do about it. It's also a powerful support system to keep you moving in the right direction. It provides an external perspective on your life. Unlike therapy or counselling, life coaching starts from where you are now and helps you get to where you want to be.
What can it do for you?
We bring training, experience, care, skill and absolute confidentiality. You bring any concerns that you have about relationships, values, business, career, finance, personal values, guilt or fear (the list is endless!). During the early sessions we will work together to define your own life plan. This has elements of goal setting but, is proactive with an emphasis on goal achievement.
Results are permanent
We will help you realise that you truly can be, do or have anything that you want. And we will be with you each step of the way as you turn that realisation into your reality. The format of weekly or fortnightly sessions sustains your enthusiasm and determination to ensure that the results are lasting beneficial changes - unlike the temporary 'high' that can follow a seminar or motivational talk.
Achieve your full life potential
We will lead you through all the areas of your life - mind, body and spirit - without judgement or criticism. The results will speak for themselves. You CAN change your life and achieve your full life potential.
Do I need a Life Coach?
Ever ask yourself the following questions?
There must be more to life than this' 'My career seems to be at a dead end' 'I need a better work/life balance' 'This relationship seems to be going nowhere' 'I'm so busy but achieving nothing'
Life coaching empowers you to create to life you desire
NLP
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is an incredibly powerful discipline that enables people to unblock the existing structures of human communication and excellence. By doing so people find they can think, communicate and manage themselves, and others, more effectively.
NLP examines and explores the relationships between how we think (neuro), how we communicate (linguistic) and our patterns of behaviours and emotions (programmes).
By studying and learning from these relationships people can effectively transform the way they traditionally think and in turn act, adopting new, far more successful models of human excellence.
NLP is a powerful tool for change management that can transform the way people think and act to have the greatest impact both professionally and personally. That's why NLP is one of the most powerful skills used in business management, psychology, sales, sports coaching and all forms of personal development.
NLP alone or in conjunction with other therapies can help you to:
- Be more successful by learning to be responsible for and influence your emotional and psychological states.
- Replace negative behaviours and habits with positive ones.
- Transform the way you live your everyday life.
- Better understand your own motivations, needs and behaviours and use these positively to have the greatest impact.
- Be more aware of your impact on others and how to manage your behaviour for optimal results.
- Improve and enhance your interpersonal communication at the office and at home.
- Bring about over all positive changes in your everyday life.
